Our client is seeking a skilled Procurement Specialist with a focus on IT and software procurement to join their team in Polokwane . This role is essential for managing the acquisition of technology-related goods and services, including hardware, software licenses, cloud services, and IT consulting. You will be responsible for ensuring that technology investments are aligned with business needs, cost-effective, and meet stringent compliance and security standards.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of the IT landscape and procurement best practices within this domain.
- Manage the end-to-end procurement process for IT hardware, software, licenses, and related services.
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies for technology solutions, considering market trends and vendor capabilities.
- Negotiate contracts with IT vendors, ensuring favorable terms, pricing, and service level agreements (SLAs).
- Conduct market research on emerging technologies and potential suppliers to drive innovation and cost savings.
- Collaborate with IT departments and business units to understand requirements and ensure procurement solutions meet their needs.
- Ensure compliance with software licensing agreements and IT security policies.
- A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in IT procurement, sourcing technology solutions, or vendor management.
- Strong understanding of IT hardware, software licensing models, and cloud computing services.
- Proven negotiation skills and experience in managing complex IT contracts.
- Familiarity with ITIL or other IT service management frameworks is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
