About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Procurement Specialist to join their operations team in Polokwane, focusing on optimizing the sourcing and purchasing of raw materials and supplies for their FMCG products. This role is vital in ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery of essential inputs, directly impacting product availability and profitability. You will play a key role in supplier relationship management, contract negotiation, and risk mitigation within the supply chain.

• Source and procure raw materials, packaging, and other supplies ensuring competitive pricing and quality standards.
• Negotiate terms, pricing, and contracts with suppliers to achieve cost savings and favorable terms.
• Manage supplier relationships, conduct performance reviews, and ensure adherence to service level agreements.
• Monitor market trends for key commodities and identify potential risks or opportunities impacting procurement costs.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, including purchase orders, invoices, and supplier information.
• Collaborate with production, quality control, and logistics teams to ensure smooth supply chain operations.

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or sourcing, preferably within the FMCG sector.
• Strong negotiation skills and experience in contract management.
• Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment, balancing remote tasks with on-site responsibilities in Polokwane.
