About the Role
Our client is seeking a meticulous and hands-on Sports Facilities Maintenance Supervisor to manage the upkeep and operational readiness of their sports venues in Polokwane . This role is essential for ensuring that all facilities within the Leisure & Sports sector are safe, clean, and in optimal condition for athletes, staff, and visitors. You will lead a maintenance team, oversee preventative maintenance schedules, and respond efficiently to repair needs, ensuring that all infrastructure meets the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the maintenance team, including scheduling, task delegation, and performance monitoring.
- Develop and implement comprehensive preventative maintenance programs for all facility equipment, grounds, and structures.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repairs, ensuring minimal disruption to facility operations.
- Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify and address potential hazards or maintenance issues.
- Manage inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels.
- Oversee the maintenance budget, controlling costs and ensuring efficient resource allocation.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations related to facility maintenance.
- Proven experience in facilities maintenance, with a focus on sports venues or similar public spaces.
- Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience leading a maintenance team.
- Strong knowledge of building systems, groundskeeping, and equipment maintenance.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in using maintenance management software is a plus.
- Strong understanding of health and safety protocols.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
