About the Role
Our client is looking for an experienced and dynamic Chemical Plant Operations Manager to lead their manufacturing facility in Polokwane . You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of plant operations, including production, safety, quality control, and personnel management, ensuring optimal performance and profitability. The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of chemical processes, and a commitment to operational excellence and safety.
This is a senior leadership position offering the opportunity to make a significant impact on our business in the Northern region, based in Polokwane .
- Manage and direct all plant operations, ensuring targets for safety, quality, production, and cost are met.
- Develop and implement operational strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.
- Oversee maintenance, reliability, and capital project execution within the plant.
- Ensure strict adherence to all safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance standards.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the operations team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
- Manage plant budgets and P&L responsibilities effectively.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related technical field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in chemical plant operations, with at least 5 years in a management role.
- Proven track record of success in managing complex chemical manufacturing operations.
- Strong understanding of process safety, environmental regulations, and quality management systems.
- Excellent leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and P&L in a manufacturing environment in Polokwane.
