About the Role
Our client is seeking a seasoned Production Operations Manager to oversee manufacturing operations at their facility in Polokwane . This critical role involves managing all aspects of the production process, ensuring high-quality output, optimizing efficiency, and maintaining a safe working environment. You will lead the production team, implement lean manufacturing principles, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with a deep understanding of manufacturing processes and a proven ability to manage complex production schedules and resources effectively.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and optimize all production processes to meet quality standards, output targets, and delivery schedules.
- Oversee daily production activities, ensuring efficient workflow and resource utilization in the Polokwane plant.
- Lead, train, and mentor the production team, fostering a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Implement and manage lean manufacturing initiatives and other process improvement methodologies.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, quality standards, and environmental policies.
- Monitor production costs and implement strategies to enhance profitability and reduce waste.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in production management within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience in implementing lean manufacturing principles and driving operational efficiency.
- Strong understanding of quality control systems and safety management.
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Experience with production planning software and factory automation systems is highly desirable for this role.
