About the Role

Our client is seeking a qualified and experienced Hygiene and Sanitation Manager to oversee all sanitation operations for their facilities in and around Polokwane . This role is pivotal in ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and public health compliance across all company sites. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring comprehensive sanitation programs, managing a team of sanitation staff, and ensuring adherence to all regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of hygiene protocols, and a commitment to fostering a safe and healthy working environment. This position offers a significant opportunity to shape and maintain the hygiene standards within a prominent organization in the Polokwane region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement robust hygiene and sanitation policies and procedures for all company facilities.
  • Manage and supervise the daily operations of the cleaning and sanitation department, including staff scheduling and performance management.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Oversee the procurement and management of cleaning supplies, equipment, and disinfection agents.
  • Investigate and resolve any sanitation-related issues or complaints promptly and effectively.
  • Train staff on proper hygiene practices, chemical safety, and the use of sanitation equipment.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health, Food Science, Public Health, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a hygiene and sanitation management role, preferably in a large-scale operational environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of food safety standards (e.g., HACCP), occupational health, and environmental regulations.
  • Proven leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with risk assessment and the implementation of corrective actions.
