Our client is seeking a skilled and innovative Formulation Scientist to join their product development team in Polokwane . This role is central to developing stable, effective, and patient-friendly dosage forms for new and existing pharmaceutical products. You will be responsible for the design, execution, and analysis of formulation development studies, ensuring adherence to quality and regulatory standards. Working within a dedicated R&D laboratory, you will contribute significantly to the success of our product pipeline, ensuring high-quality pharmaceutical innovations emerge from our Limpopo facility.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop various pharmaceutical dosage forms (e.g., tablets, capsules, liquids, injectables).
- Conduct pre-formulation studies, including characterization of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and excipients.
- Optimize formulation processes and parameters to ensure product stability, bioavailability, and manufacturability.
- Perform laboratory-scale formulation trials and scale-up activities.
- Analyze formulation data and prepare comprehensive development reports.
- Collaborate with analytical development, process chemistry, and manufacturing teams.
- Master's or Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmaceutics, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in pharmaceutical formulation development .
- Strong knowledge of dosage form design, excipient selection, and drug delivery systems.
- Experience with laboratory equipment used in formulation development and characterization.
- Understanding of GMP principles and regulatory requirements for drug product development.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
