• Lead the design and execution of research projects in plant genetics, molecular biology, and biotechnology.
• Utilize advanced techniques such as genetic transformation, gene editing (CRISPR), and marker-assisted selection for crop improvement.
• Analyze plant genomic and phenotypic data to identify desirable traits and guide breeding strategies.
• Oversee greenhouse and field trials, collect data, and interpret results to assess plant performance and traits.
• Collaborate with plant breeders, agronomists, and other scientists to integrate biotechnological advancements into breeding programs.
• Author scientific publications, present research findings, and contribute to patent applications in Polokwane .

• Ph.D. in Plant Science, Botany, Genetics, Molecular Biology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of post-doctoral or industry experience in plant biotechnology or crop science.
• Demonstrated expertise in plant molecular biology techniques, including transformation and gene expression analysis.
• Experience with genomic data analysis and bioinformatics tools relevant to plant science.
