About the Role
Our client is looking for an accomplished Senior Economist to join their research and advisory division based in Polokwane . This role is central to analyzing macroeconomic trends, forecasting economic indicators, and providing expert insights into the financial and business environment. You will contribute to strategic decision-making by producing rigorous economic analysis and research that informs policy and investment strategies. Key Responsibilities- Conduct in-depth research and analysis of macroeconomic trends, monetary policy, and fiscal developments.
- Develop and maintain economic models for forecasting key indicators such as GDP, inflation, and employment.
- Prepare comprehensive economic reports, briefs, and presentations for stakeholders and policymakers.
- Advise on the economic implications of policy changes and business strategies.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners on economic research projects.
- Present findings at conferences and contribute to public discourse on economic issues.
- Ph.D. or Master's degree in Economics or a closely related quantitative field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in economic research, analysis, or forecasting.
- Strong command of econometric techniques and statistical software (e.g., Stata, R, EViews).
- Expertise in macroeconomic theory and policy analysis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex economic concepts clearly.
- Published research or contributions to economic policy are highly desirable.
