Research Fellow - Chemical Engineering

Our client is seeking a dedicated Research Fellow with a background in Chemical Engineering to join their innovative research group in Polokwane . This position is focused on developing and optimizing advanced chemical processes for sustainable energy applications. You will be involved in experimental design, process simulation, data analysis, and the scale-up of new technologies. • Design, conduct, and analyze experiments related to chemical process development and optimization.
• Utilize process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS) to model and evaluate process performance.
• Develop and validate new methodologies for process monitoring and control.
• Investigate the feasibility of scaling up laboratory-developed processes to pilot or industrial scale.
• Interpret experimental data, draw conclusions, and present findings to the research team and stakeholders.
• Contribute to technical reports, patent applications, and publications in scientific journals.

• Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years of postdoctoral or relevant industrial research experience.
• Strong theoretical knowledge and practical experience in chemical process development and scale-up.
• Proficiency in process simulation software and data analysis tools.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a research environment in Polokwane .
