Our client is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Biotechnology Research Scientist to join their innovative research and development team in Polokwane. This position is crucial for advancing cutting-edge projects in the field of biotechnology, focusing on discovery and product development. You will conduct complex experiments, analyze data, and contribute to scientific publications and patent applications. The role requires a strong background in molecular biology, cell biology, or a related discipline, working in a state-of-the-art laboratory environment.
Key Responsibilities- Design, execute, and optimize complex experiments in molecular biology, cell culture, and protein analysis.
- Analyze and interpret experimental data, drawing scientifically sound conclusions.
- Develop and validate new assays and protocols for research and development purposes.
- Maintain detailed laboratory notebooks and prepare reports on experimental findings.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including chemists, biologists, and engineers, to advance research projects.
- Contribute to scientific literature, presentations, and patent applications.
- Ensure adherence to laboratory safety protocols and good laboratory practices (GLP).
- A PhD or Master's degree in Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related life science field.
- Minimum of 4 years of hands-on laboratory research experience in a relevant area.
- Proven expertise in techniques such as PCR, Western blotting, ELISA, cell culture, and gene editing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot experimental challenges.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for report writing and team collaboration.
- Experience with data analysis software and scientific documentation.
