Research Assistant - Molecular Biology

Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Research Assistant to support their Molecular Biology research initiatives in Polokwane. • Perform a variety of molecular biology laboratory techniques, including PCR, gel electrophoresis, DNA/RNA extraction, and cloning.
• Assist in the preparation of reagents, buffers, and media required for experiments.
• Maintain detailed and accurate laboratory records, including experimental protocols, data, and observations.
• Operate and maintain common laboratory equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionality.
• Support senior researchers in data collection, analysis, and troubleshooting experimental procedures.
• Ensure compliance with laboratory safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized workspace.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or a related life science field.
• Previous laboratory experience, ideally with exposure to basic molecular biology techniques.
• Familiarity with standard laboratory safety procedures and equipment.
• Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail in experimental execution and record-keeping.
• Ability to follow protocols accurately and work effectively as part of a research team in Polokwane.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
