Freight Forwarder

About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced Freight Forwarder to manage international and domestic shipments from their Polokwane office. This critical role involves coordinating the complex process of moving goods across borders, ensuring compliance with all regulations and optimizing transit times and costs. You will liaise with carriers, customs authorities, and clients to facilitate smooth and efficient transportation. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of global trade, customs procedures, and logistics networks, ensuring that our clients' goods reach their destinations safely and on time, playing a vital role in our global reach.

• Arrange and coordinate the transportation of goods via air, sea, and land, managing all aspects of the shipping process.
• Prepare and process all necessary shipping documentation, including customs declarations, bills of lading, and invoices.
• Liaise with customs brokers, airlines, shipping lines, and other third-party logistics providers.
• Track shipments, provide status updates to clients, and resolve any issues that may arise during transit.
• Ensure compliance with all international trade regulations, tariffs, and customs laws.
• Negotiate freight rates with carriers to secure competitive pricing for clients.

• Proven experience as a Freight Forwarder or in a similar international logistics role.
• Solid understanding of shipping terms, Incoterms, and customs procedures.
• Proficiency in using freight forwarding software and documentation systems.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities simultaneously.
• Knowledge of different transportation modes and their associated regulations.
