Commercial Transport Planner

Our client is seeking a strategic and analytical Commercial Transport Planner to optimize their transportation networks in the Polokwane area. This role is pivotal in ensuring cost-effective and efficient movement of goods, requiring expertise in route planning, load optimization, and carrier management. You will work closely with sales, operations, and warehouse teams to meet commercial demands while adhering to strict delivery schedules and budget constraints.

• Develop and manage optimized transportation plans , considering factors such as cost, time, and capacity.
• Analyze shipping requirements and select the most appropriate transport modes and carriers.
• Negotiate rates and terms with transport providers to achieve cost savings.
• Monitor shipment progress and proactively address any delays or disruptions.
• Collaborate with warehouse teams to ensure efficient loading and unloading processes.
• Prepare reports on transport costs, performance metrics, and efficiency improvements.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in transport planning , logistics, or supply chain roles.
• Proven experience in route optimization and load planning software.
• Strong understanding of the commercial transport landscape and carrier operations.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and other relevant logistics software.
• Good negotiation and communication skills are essential.
