Job SummaryThe position plays a critical role in the training of veterinary students by contributing to Foundational Sciences education, including lectures, laboratories, problem-based learning facilitation, and discussions on veterinary issues. The role also involves pursuing scholarly endeavors, such as developing a self-sustaining research program, mentoring veterinary students, and participating in post‑DVM training initiatives. Additionally, the position requires active participation in college and university committees, as well as representing the institution to external agencies and funding bodies.
If applicable, maintaining a California veterinary license and any relevant specialty certifications is also expected.

- Ability to orally communicate with others. Ability to effectively interact with administration, faculty, staff, students, and outside contacts.
- Ability to handle detail‑oriented assignments and maintain confidentiality.
- Organizational skills necessary in prioritizing workload and delegating responsibility.
- Knowledge of educational needs for contemporary veterinary practice.
- Knowledge and skills in his/her discipline.
- Demonstrate a commitment to working for an organization that values and promotes humanism.
Education:
- An advanced degree (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (ie, DVM, VMD), PhD, or equivalent degree) in the discipline of expertise is required.
Licensure (if applicable):
- Actively licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Veterinarian in the state of California preferred. Current Veterinary specialty board certification preferred.

- The college is seeking an optimal match between individual qualifications and assessed ability to contribute to the College’s mission. All qualified candidates will be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the training of veterinary students in Foundational Sciences.
- Participate in the curricular activities for Year 1 and 2 students, including but not limited to content expertise in the various disciplines, facilitation of Problem‑Based Learning (PBL) activities, foundational science lectures & laboratories, veterinary issues discussions and presentations, and other ancillary activities as determined in the curriculum development process.
- Pursue scholarly endeavors and professional self‑development, with opportunities to engage in research, as negotiated.
- Develop a self‑sustaining research program.
- Participate in the development of post‑DVM training programs.
- Participate in the research mentoring of veterinary students.
- Participate in local, national, and/or international continuing education programs.
