Position Title

Associate Professor of Dental Medicine

Job Summary

This is a College of Dental Medicine Full‑Time faculty position within Western University of Health Sciences and is offered in conjunction with an administrative appointment. Together the faculty role (PCN 998435) and the administrative role (PCN 998879) comprise a full‑time position (1.0 FTE / 5 days per week). The salary range listed in this posting represents the total compensation for the combined faculty and administrative responsibilities.

The primary purpose of the Associate Professor of Dental Medicine Faculty member is to conduct teaching, patient care activities, scholarly and service activities in support of the mission, goals and objectives of the College and University.

Required Qualifications

Education:

  • D.D.S. or D.M.D from an institution accredited by the ADA Commission on Dental Accreditation or equivalent.
Licensure and Certification

Licensure and Certification:

  • Must have active California license or be qualified to obtain licensure in California.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Completion of a residency program in advanced general dentistry (GPR or AEGD) and / or 3‑5 years of clinical practice are preferred.
  • Experience in academics and/or clinical research is desirable.

  • Design and present a course or portion of a course utilizing appropriate instructional methodologies.
  • Prepare student assessments including quizzes, examinations, projects, oral examinations, portfolios and performance evaluations as assigned.
  • Conduct classes and simulation clinic assignments according to the published schedule.
  • Maintain intellectual integrity and strive for academic excellence.
  • Provide students with a syllabus at the beginning of each course.
  • Promote standards of linguistic expression in writing and speech.
