This role is based in Pomona, California. It supports the growth of the engineering department and overall facility by reviewing specifications, designing steel and copper parts, creating assembly drawings, bills of materials, and equipment layouts for power distribution equipment. The position reports to the engineering manager and has no direct reports.
Responsibilities- Review customer technical specifications and verify that the Siemens solution meets the customer requirements.
- Work independently and/or with a team to create required customer documentation, typically including custom mechanical assemblies, bills of materials, and equipment layouts.
- Utilize Creo (Pro/E) 3D software package along with Teamcenter to create steel and copper parts and assemblies.
- Provide factory support during the manufacture of projects.
- Interact successfully with application engineering, R&D, sales, customer, and manufacturing production personnel.
- Assist in training other engineers and employees as required.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience creating mechanical assemblies.
- Working knowledge of 3D design software.
- Strong work ethic focused on exceeding customer expectations.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.
- Experience with Switchgear/Switchboard products.
- Experience in a fast‑paced production engineering environment.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with electrical schematics and electrical components.
- Skilled in Creo (Pro/E) 3D design software.
- Experience with a data management system, preferably Teamcenter.
- Experience with Visual Basic programming or other programming languages.
- Experience with an ERP system, preferably SAP.
- Proven track record of innovative thinking and process improvement.
- Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma experience.
