Transmission Line Structural Engineer

Duration: 18 months

Work Mode: Hybrid (at least 2 days onsite – Wed. & Thu.)

Responsibilities

• Lead structural engineering tasks for lattice towers (structure & foundation) in complex transmission line projects.
• Act as SME in PLS Tower analysis and modeling of new/existing lattice structures per ASCE & SCE standards.
• Design/review transmission line foundations (drilled shafts, direct embed, micropiles, grillage) using FAD Tools, hand calcs, or similar software.
• Perform structural load calculations per NESC, California GO 95, and other codes.
• Support construction administration – resolve design issues, field inspections, and emergency restoration (wildfire, storm, etc.).
• Prepare mitigation reports for damaged towers/footings.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership.
• Ensure QA/QC compliance and adherence to safety standards.

Required Skills

• California Civil PE License (Structural PE preferred).
• Bachelor’s (or Master’s) in Civil/Structural Engineering.
• 7+ years’ experience in transmission line engineering.
• Proficiency in PLS TOWER / PLS-CADD and FAD Tools
