We are looking for an Electrical Engineering Technician. This position will be based in Pomona, CA.
Position OverviewSiemens Industry is looking for an Electrical Test Engineer for its Pomona manufacturing facility. This person will perform electrical testing on power distribution products of 600 V or less. The role is essential for maintaining quality of highly custom and complex products. In this role you will be able to work a flexible afternoon schedule. Hours will be 5 am to 1:30 pm after an initial training period on an 8 am–4:30 pm schedule.
Key Responsibilities- Test and inspect low‑voltage switchboards and panel boards to applicable standards.
- Use multimeter and electrical theory to verify power readings and circuit build to ensure accurate wiring and operation.
- Use hipot, test cart, hand tools and various other tools to aid in testing.
- Use specialized software for testing/inspection as required (e.g., Siemens WinPM, Power Config, Step 7, Micro Win, WinCC Flexible, SAP).
- Perform inspections/audits of electromechanical assemblies.
- Maintain and input records or reports related to testing/inspection activities.
- Assist in training other specialists and employees as needed.
- Participate in best‑practice sharing with other facilities.
- Maintain and improve test procedures and documentation.
- 2‑year technical degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience in engineering or testing of power distribution equipment.
- Knowledge of power distribution components required (breakers, relays, communication devices).
- Experience in a fast‑paced production environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Strong work ethic with a focus on exceeding customer expectations.
- Qualified applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States and will not require employer‑sponsored work authorization now or in the future.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of prevailing codes and standards (UL 891, UL 508, NEC).
- Experience testing and troubleshooting PLCs.
- Experience with VBA programming or other similar languages.
- Proven track record of innovative thinking and process improvement.
- Lean manufacturing or Six‑Sigma experience.
