The Senior Engineer V provides technical leadership across multiple civil engineering projects related to Transmission, Substation, and Distribution infrastructure. This role encompasses the full lifecycle—from scoping and design to construction support and field operations.
You will lead internal and external teams to ensure design quality, schedule adherence, and regulatory compliance while embedding a safety-first culture in every aspect of your work. Field engagement and cross-functional collaboration are essential, with occasional travel to project sites as needed.
Key Responsibilities- Lead civil engineering tasks across scoping, design, cost estimation, scheduling, and construction support.
- Collaborate with project management, construction, real estate, environmental and external agencies.
- Conduct job walks and provide construction support across varied terrain.
- Oversee civil engineering consultants – define scopes, review proposals, and manage timelines.
- Perform quality assurance, peer reviews, and approve deliverables, POs, and invoices.
- Secure permits from local, state, and federal authorities in support of engineering scope.
- Monitor budgets, schedules, and deliverables across multiple civil engineering projects.
- Promote and embed safety protocols in design and field practices.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Technical expertise in civil engineering within utility infrastructure
- Experience working with cross‑functional teams and field‑based construction efforts
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong organizational and stakeholder communication skills
- Civil engineering for electrical substations and transmission lines
- Familiarity with California permitting processes
- Experience with road / highway design and storm mitigation
- Skilled in consultant oversight and PO management
- Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering
- Exposure to ArcGIS or geospatial platforms
