The Division of University Advancement is one of five central divisions of the university whose primary purpose is to enhance the private support and knowledge of the university. This is accomplished by initiating programs, events and activities that stimulate the involvement and interest of alumni, friends, parents, corporations and foundations to develop relationships that will foster and stimulate giving to the university.

The Office of the Vice President for University Advancement oversees the offices of development, alumni and external relations, advancement services and annual giving. The division manages and operates the Cal Poly Pomona Philanthropic Foundation, which serves as the official entity to receive and manage all contributions to the University. Under the telework policy it is understood that your physical presence may be required on individual scheduled remote days based on the needs of the campus, division, department, or request of your HEERA Manager.

• Oversee and lead the data analysis and economic modeling activities for the Division of University Advancement.
• Build and revise a framework for data-informed decision-making aligned with University Advancement priorities.
• Define and create effective metrics that reflect preferred fundraising and donor interaction outcomes.
• Create data infrastructure that serves the diverse set of fundraising units/approaches within the Division.
• Work directly with various Divisional units to understand their data needs.
• Support UA's various software and data-visualization tools that connect to data analysis.
• Lead the cross-Division data visualization (Tableau) group, including Gift Processing, Data Administration, and IT.
• Lead UA's data efforts for the campus-wide Lightcast Alumni Pathways system, in concert with Alumni & External Affairs, and IRPA.
• Provide data-informed analysis and recommendations that support divisional fundraising goal setting and forecasting.
• Utilize data to create narratives that can connect with donors on the impact their donations will/have had on CPP.
• Manage at least one Data & Reporting Analyst focused on data analysis, data visualization, and economic modeling.
• Interface with Development team and Alumni Affairs on business requirements gathering for data products.

• Lead strategic initiatives at the direction of the Vice President for University Advancement that are central to the priorities of the Division and the University at large.
