Research Associate I, Kerr Dental Location
Pomona, CA (may begin work at Orange, CA with transition to Pomona)
Job DescriptionThe Research Associate I will be responsible for supporting compliance with the company's current marketed dental consumables, ensuring internal and external quality and safety requirements. The role will primarily conduct experiments in the research laboratory, complete required documentation, and maintain accurate records. The position is based in Pomona, CA, with initial work potentially conducted at Orange, CA until transition.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Conduct assigned experiments under general supervision using appropriate equipment, techniques, and protocols, applying good laboratory practices.
- Plan a schedule of research activities under guidance of senior R&D personnel, establishing daily or weekly routines to meet project timelines.
- Contribute to the design of experiments.
- Identify deficiencies and suggest solutions to problems of limited scope (low to moderate complexity).
- Record experimental data and observations, completing calculations according to established procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of work.
- Prepare standard and summary reports of results.
- Develop knowledge of the company’s existing products.
- Participate in evaluation of experiment results, competitor products, and new technologies.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures including quality, complaint handling, and safety.

Job RequirementsQualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field required.
- Associate’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field plus a minimum of 2 years of industrial laboratory experience.
- Knowledge of standard chemical or physical testing procedures required.
- Understanding of good laboratory practices required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) required.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English required.
- Good interpersonal and collaborative skills required.
- Good organizational and time management skills required.
- Ability to prioritize required.
- Work in a chemical laboratory and/or manufacturing environment with required PPE.
- Work in the presence of human and animal teeth.
- Frequently use hands and fingers.
- Occasionally reach up/down with arms.
- Occasionally bend and stoop.
- Occasionally walk, stand, sit.
- Occasionally lift and carry up to 15 lbs.
Actual compensation packages consider geographic location, skill set, education, experience, performance, and other factors. The range shown is a reasonable estimate. The total compensation package may also include an annual performance bonus, medical/dental/vision benefits, 401K match, and other applicable plans.
