Ingersoll Rand's Compression Systems and Services Pomona, CA Customer Center is hiring a Light Industrial Account Manager to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving the Customer Center equipment sales and service activity for a specific territory extending from Santa Monica to Long Beach, CA. Traveling in a defined geographic area, this includes quoting, strategizing, prospecting, and developing relationships to achieve revenue targets, maximize profits, increase market share and maintain customer loyalty while achieving organizational goals.
The position is a unique blend of supporting a major distributor and selling direct to customers.

- Generate Revenue – Responsible for generating sales of equipment, service contracts, and service offerings with our direct end users and partners selling into a defined customer base within a geographic area. Develop existing customers and secure new, competitive accounts to expand IR presence. Provide and design compressed‑air solutions to meet industrial customer needs, including equipment, accessories, turnkey installations, service contracts, parts, rental equipment, and energy audits.
Keep current with product knowledge, industry standards and required training. Execute continuous improvement strategies and exceed customer satisfaction. Achieve all assigned sales targets. - Develop People Capabilities – Provide selling‑skills and product/service training for dealer sales personnel (as required) and central Customer Center staff. Partner with the services team to understand products and services and anticipate customer needs.
- Manage Cash – Ensure all orders are error‑free with proper customer documentation. Resolve customer disputes. Manage costs associated with selling efforts, including travel and entertainment expenditures.
- Ensure Adherence to Safety Rules – Observe vehicle safety, customer‑site safety, and Customer Center safety procedures.
- Earn Customer Loyalty – Collaborate cross‑functionally and partner with the service team to troubleshoot issues or offer unique solutions.
- Maintain CRM Database – Log face‑to‑face interactions, assets, agreements, contacts, and opportunities in the order management system. Record order follow‑up activities and report requirements. Provide feedback on market conditions. Drive and track the sales pipeline of all account activity and daily reporting.
- Bachelor's Degree
- 4+ years’ experience in an industrial sales business setting or successful completion of the Ingersoll Rand Sales Development Program (SDP).
- Excellent relationship‑building and interpersonal skills, including verbal, written, and presentation communication.
- Establishes and builds solid relationships with customers, key institutions, and team members.
- Honest, self‑motivated, and team‑oriented.
- Able to work within a team environment and independently.
- Mechanical and electrical expertise required.
- Ability to assess customer needs, analyze and interpret, perform basic equipment performance calculations, and recommend technical solutions.
- Tech savvy; knowledge of Salesforce or other CRM software is preferred.
- Proven business and sales acumen, including the ability to prospect accounts, navigate customer organizations, value‑sell, and win competitive accounts.
- Must have excellent prioritization and time‑management skills.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, business or equivalent.
- Knowledge of Salesforce.
- Regional travel to customer sites required within the assigned geographic territory.
