Research Associate, Research Scientist

Job Description:

The Research Associate I will be responsible for supporting compliance with the company's current marketed dental consumables including meeting internal and external quality and safety requirements. The role will be primarily responsible for performing experiments in the research laboratory and completing all required documentation.

This position will be based in our Pomona, CA location. Hired employee could potentially initially work from our Orange, CA location until the work is transitioned to Pomona.

• The role conducts assigned experiments under general supervision, using appropriate equipment, techniques, and protocols, applying good laboratory practices.
• Under the guidance of senior R&D personnel, plans a schedule of research activities according to the company’s timetable, establishing daily or weekly routines to meet project deadlines.
• Contributes to the design of experiments.
• Identifies deficiencies and suggests solutions to problems of limited scope (low to moderate complexity).
• Records experimental data and observations; completes calculations per established procedures.
• Maintains accurate records of work.
• Prepares standard and summary of results.
• Develops knowledge of the company’s existing products.
• Participates in evaluation of experiment results, ideas, competitor products, and new technologies.
• Complies with all company policies and procedures including quality, complaint handling, and safety.

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field required OR
• Associate’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field plus a minimum of 2 years of industrial laboratory experience required.

• Knowledge of standard chemical or physical testing procedures is required.
• Understanding of good laboratory practices required.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office including Word and Excel required.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills in English required.
• Good interpersonal and collaborative skills are required.
• Good organizational and time management skills required.
• Ability to prioritize is required.

At Envista, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The total compensation package for this position may also include an annual performance bonus, medical/dental/vision benefits, 401K match, and/or other applicable compensation plans.
