$19.02 - $20.02 Per Hour

The Monitor is the entry‑level position that works to provide security of the program premises and safety for program clients, visitors, and employees. Driving ability preferred.

• Shelter Security – Monitor entry and exit, secure bags and persons, patrol premises, maintain logs.
• Shelter Safety – Observe for safety conditions, report spills, unauthorized persons, and provide assistance in emergencies.
• Asset Protection – Protect shelter assets, report suspicious events, and complete written reports and incident logs.
• Role Model – Act professionally and prioritize client needs.
• Client/Participant Support – Answer phone, greet visitors, maintain office housekeeping, and assist with staff services such as meal prep, medication monitoring, and event set‑ups.
• Driving Tasks (licensed Monitors) – Transport participants, assist with mobility devices, maintain trip records, keep vehicle clean, and perform routine maintenance.

• Monitor entry and screen bags and persons.
• Patrol premises.
• Monitor client compliance and conduct room checks.
• Report safety concerns and violations.
• Protect assets and log incidents.
• Drive participants as directed (for licensed Monitors).
• Other duties as required.

• Must pass fingerprint clearance and background check.
• Within 30 days of hire, complete VOALA safety training.

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Current California driver's license and clean driving record.
• Knowledge of CA driving laws.
• Database familiarity.
