Job Summary And PurposeThe Monitor is the entry‑level position that works to provide security of the program premises and safety for program clients, visitors, and employees. Driving ability preferred.
Duties And Responsibilities- Shelter Security – Monitor entry and exit, secure bags and persons, patrol premises, maintain logs.
- Shelter Safety – Observe for safety conditions, report spills, unauthorized persons, and provide assistance in emergencies.
- Asset Protection – Protect shelter assets, report suspicious events, and complete written reports and incident logs.
- Role Model – Act professionally and prioritize client needs.
- Client/Participant Support – Answer phone, greet visitors, maintain office housekeeping, and assist with staff services such as meal prep, medication monitoring, and event set‑ups.
- Driving Tasks (licensed Monitors) – Transport participants, assist with mobility devices, maintain trip records, keep vehicle clean, and perform routine maintenance.
- Monitor entry and screen bags and persons.
- Patrol premises.
- Monitor client compliance and conduct room checks.
- Report safety concerns and violations.
- Protect assets and log incidents.
- Drive participants as directed (for licensed Monitors).
- Other duties as required.
- Must pass fingerprint clearance and background check.
- Within 30 days of hire, complete VOALA safety training.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Current California driver's license and clean driving record.
- Knowledge of CA driving laws.
- Database familiarity.
