The City of Pomona has an exciting opportunity for a Utility System Technician to join the Water Resources team. This position, under general supervision, will perform journey level electrical, electronic, programmable logic controller (PLC) programming, and telemetry work in the repair, alteration, construction, installation, and maintenance of systems and equipment at City-owned water utility facilities; and will design, install, maintain, and repair electrical systems for wells, boosters, treatment plants, transfer valves, buildings, and remote telemetry units.

- Two years of college supplemented by specialized training in electronic, computer, and telemetry equipment.
- Two years of journey level electronic and electrical experience.
- Possession of a valid Class C driver's license is required at the time of application.
- Possession of, or must obtain, a Grade 1 Water Treatment Operator Certificate within 1 year of employment.
- Possession of, or must obtain, CPR, First Aid, Arc Flash, Respirator, Confined Space, and Hazwoper certificates within 6 months of employment.

- Inspect, repair, install, test, service, and maintain electrical, electronic, and telemetry systems including conduit and duct systems, light and power circuits, generators, control equipment, switches, and switchboards.
- Install interior and exterior wiring for equipment, time clocks, special circuitry for telemetry equipment, remote data sensing and transmitting equipment, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), computer systems and networks, power supplies, chart recorders, controllers, valves, and pump control equipment.
