Church: The Pink Church (First Presbyterian Church of Pompano Beach, FL)

Context: Mid-sized congregation (150-200 weekly attendance) with a Children's Ministry of 30-40 children (infants through elementary).

Employment: Full-time, 35 hours per week

Reports To: Senior Pastor

Position Summary

The Director of Children's & Family Ministries is responsible for the vision, leadership, and execution of all ministry programming for children (nursery through school-aged), family engagement, and ministries to young women. This critical role leads volunteers, manages curriculum, plans major events, and actively integrates these ministries into the broader life of The Pink Church.

Key Responsibilities

• Vision & Planning: Develop and articulate a clear vision for the spiritual development of children and families, aligning with the church's mission.
• Curriculum & Teaching: Oversee curriculum selection and ensure age-appropriate, Biblical teaching is delivered consistently across all children's programs (nursery through elementary).
• Programming: Plan, coordinate, and execute all weekly and special children's events, including Vacation Bible School (VBS) and holiday programs.
• Parent Partnership: Actively partner with parents, providing resources and opportunities for families to grow in faith together.
• Budget Management: Develop and manage the annual budget for the Children's and Family Ministries.

• Recruitment & Training: Recruit, screen, train, and support a robust team of volunteers for all children's and family programs.
• Safe Ministry: Ensure all children's ministry policies and procedures (e.g., child protection) are followed strictly.
• Staff Integration: Work collaboratively with church staff, ensuring departmental goals are integrated with the overall programming of The Pink Church.
