Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Histotechnologist to support critical lab functions involving the preparation and processing of tissue slides for microscopic evaluation. The ideal candidate has a solid background in histology, strong attention to detail, and the ability to operate in a regulated laboratory setting.

Responsibilities
  • Accession and label tissue samples
  • Embed processed tissue in paraffin and perform microtomy
  • Prepare slides with H&E staining and cover slips (manual or automated)
  • Conduct special stains and IHC procedures (as applicable)
  • Prepare and validate reagents and control materials
  • Maintain and troubleshoot lab equipment
  • Train and guide junior staff, students, and lab aides
  • Ensure compliance with CLIA, CAP, and internal QA standards
  • Maintain clean, organized work areas and documentation
Required Experience
  • Previous histotech background
  • Experience with embedding and microtomy
Nice-to-Have Experience
  • IHC staining and special stain procedures
Required Skills
  • ASCP HT Certification
  • Bachelor's degree in a life science or related field
  • Strong histology lab technique and quality control compliance
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks during shift operations
Preferred Skills
  • Familiarity with regulated lab environments and documentation protocols
Additional Skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Effective communication and training ability
