Job Summary
Performs routine, unskilled manual labor in grounds and park maintenance. This role supports the upkeep, safety, and appearance of parks and public spaces through landscaping, custodial work, and general maintenance tasks. Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions, independently or as part of a crew, with varying shifts that may include weekends and holidays.
Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform routine grounds maintenance, including mowing, trimming, edging, and leaf removal
• Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of cemetery grounds, walkways, and common areas
• Assist with grave opening and closing preparations as directed
• Set and remove burial equipment, tents, chairs, and lowering devices
• Ensure headstones, markers, and memorials are protected during maintenance activities
• Report damaged property, safety hazards, or vandalism to supervision
• Operate and maintain hand tools and basic landscaping equipment safely
• Follow safety procedures and cemetery regulations at all times
• Provide respectful and professional assistance during funerals and services
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications
Education

• High school Diploma or equivalent

Experience

• Some experience in manual labor, maintenance, and/or construction work is desired
• Previous experience in lawn, landscaping, cemetery, or turf maintenance is desired

Licenses / Certifications

• Valid Florida driver's license required

Key Competencies

• Ability to operate mowers, edgers, and string trimmers
• Ability to work independently without close supervision
• Ability to maintain simple records and follow oral instructions

Physical Responsibilities

• Perform labor-intensive work, regularly lifting up to 50 lbs. and occasionally up to 100 lbs.
• Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions
