Research Assistant / Data Coordinator
The Research Assistant / Data Coordinator supports clinical research studies by ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of study data. This role focuses on data entry, data review, and query management while working closely with investigators, clinical research coordinators, sponsors, and study teams to maintain protocol compliance and timely resolution of data discrepancies.
Responsibilities
- Enter study data into electronic data capture (EDC) systems accurately and within required timelines.
- Review source documentation to confirm completeness and accuracy of all study data.
- Manage and resolve data queries from sponsors, contract research organizations (CROs), and internal stakeholders.
- Track outstanding data queries and follow up with study staff to ensure timely resolution.
- Perform routine data quality checks to identify missing, inconsistent, or inaccurate information.
- Assist with source document review and data reconciliation activities to align records with database entries.
- Maintain study records and research documentation in accordance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP), International Council for Harmonisation (ICH), and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Support study monitoring visits, audits, and inspections by providing accurate and organized data and documentation.
- Collaborate with Clinical Research Coordinators, Investigators, sponsors, and study teams to support study milestones and data deliverables.
- Ensure patient confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and other applicable regulations in all data handling activities.
Essential Skills
- At least 1 year of previous clinical research experience is preferred.
- Experience working with electronic data capture (EDC) systems and clinical trial databases.
- Strong knowledge of data management and query resolution processes within a clinical research setting.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to manage complex study data.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for interaction with study teams and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including strong skills in Excel.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Familiarity with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and ICH guidelines.
- Understanding of HIPAA and patient confidentiality requirements.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional research teams, including coordinators, investigators, and sponsors.
Work Environment
This position is office-based and involves working with electronic data capture systems, clinical trial databases, and standard office software such as the Microsoft Office Suite. The role requires sustained attention to detail at a computer workstation and regular collaboration with clinical research staff and external partners in a professional, fast-paced research environment.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Margate, FL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
