We are expanding our industrial service capabilities and are seeking experienced Forklift Technicians who value quality workmanship, professionalism, and customer trust.

The Forklift Technician at Vital Electric Supply is responsible for the diagnosis, repair, maintenance, and inspection of industrial forklifts and material-handling equipment, including electric, LPG, gasoline, and diesel units. This role supports both scheduled preventive maintenance and emergency repairs in customer facilities and yard environments.

This is a field-based position requiring strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills, along with excellent customer interaction.

• Preventive Maintenance & Inspections:
  Perform scheduled PM services on forklifts and material-handling equipment;
  Inspect brakes, steering, hydraulics, mast assemblies, batteries, chargers, and safety systems;
  Conduct OSHA-compliant safety inspections;
  Complete accurate service documentation and inspection reports;
  Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues;
  Repair or replace motors, pumps, valves, cylinders, brakes, and steering components;
  Troubleshoot electrical systems including starters, alternators, sensors, and controllers;
  Service and maintain industrial batteries, chargers, and power systems.
• Equipment Types & Systems:
  Electric forklifts (36V–80V systems); LPG, gasoline, and diesel internal combustion forklifts;
  Reach trucks, pallet jacks, order pickers, and other material-handling equipment;
  Telematics and fleet management systems (preferred).
• Customer Support & Emergency Service:
  Respond to breakdowns and emergency service calls;
  Communicate repair findings, recommendations, and safety concerns to customers;
  Support on-call and after-hours service as required.
• Safety, Quality & Professionalism:
  Follow all Vital Electric Supply safety policies and procedures;
  Maintain clean, safe, and organized job sites;
  Properly maintain company vehicle, tools, and inventory;
  Identify equipment replacement or fleet optimization opportunities and communicate them internally.

• 3+ years of forklift or material-handling equipment service experience.
• Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills.
• Experience servicing electric and IC forklifts.
• Ability to read service manuals, wiring diagrams, and hydraulic schematics.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in warehouse and industrial environments.

• OEM experience or training (Toyota, Hyster-Yale, Crown, Raymond, Jungheinrich, Clark, etc.)
• Industrial battery and charger service experience
• OSHA inspection certification or familiarity
