Safety Coordinator 2nd Shift Manufacturing

Job Description

A high‑volume manufacturing facility is seeking a Safety Coordinator to strengthen safety culture, reduce risk, and ensure compliance with OSHA and internal safety standards. This role partners closely with plant leadership and frontline teams to identify hazards before incidents occur and to drive continuous improvement across the site.

• Support the Safety Manager in implementing and maintaining safety programs aligned with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Review and revise existing safety programs; assist with implementing new programs to improve compliance and reduce risk.
• Lead incident reporting and investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective action tracking.
• Deliver monthly safety training and specialized training sessions; evaluate training effectiveness and update materials as needed.
• Conduct routine audits and inspections to ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory safety standards.
• Partner with operations to review work practices and recommend improvements.
• Maintain accurate safety documentation, reporting, and compliance records.
• Work independently in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment.

• Minimum 2 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment (food manufacturing preferred).
• Supervisory experience in a high‑volume, fast‑paced facility.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification highly preferred

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Health, Engineering, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
• CPE, CSP, or CIH certifications are a plus.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and make decisions independently.
• Comfortable working in environments with strong smells, loud noise, heat, cold, refrigerated areas, and freezers.

• Exposure to manufacturing areas requiring PPE (safety glasses, hearing protection).
• Walking, standing, and light lifting (up to 25 lbs).
• Mix of office and plant‑floor environments.
