As an Analyzer Specialist
, you will join a collaborative team dedicated to advancing analyzer infrastructure through predictive and preventative maintenance, failure analysis, and analyzer maintenance excellence. You’ll leverage your expertise to support critical operations, drive innovation, analyzer design support for minor capital projects, and help shape the future of our facility.

What You’ll Do
  • Support the research, design, installation, and maintenance of advanced analyzer and control systems to ensure safe and efficient plant operations.
  • Analyze technical challenges, develop solutions, and contribute to engineering designs, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Create and review engineering drawings, assist with equipment installation, and monitor system performance for continuous improvement.
  • Collect and analyze operational data, troubleshoot complex issues, and apply best practices and new technologies to drive reliability and efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate analyzer equipment information through documentation systems and processes.
  • Support the development and implementation of systems to collect failure data on the plant’s analyzer equipment.
  • Provide hands‑on technical support to the Analyzer Reliability Group, partnering with technicians to elevate their skills and ensure high analyzer reliability.
  • Utilize Life Cycle Cost and Decision & Risk Analysis processes to assist with repair vs. replace decisions and infrastructure project needs.
  • Guide predictive and preventive maintenance, conduct failure analysis, and support the implementation of analyzer safety improvement projects.
  • Collaborate across teams to support project designs, maintain accurate records, and recommend enhancements based on data‑driven insights.
  • Share knowledge, mentor others, and stay current with industry trends to help shape a culture of safety, innovation, and operational excellence.
What You’ll Bring – Required

  • Must be willing and able, with or without reasonable accommodations, to comply with the following:
    Travel up to 5%, Operate company vehicle on site premises and/or public roads up to 25%, Work extended hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays, and perform occasional duties, Transport articles up to 50 pounds, Climb ladders and stairs up to 200 feet, Work safely near large, hot, high‑speed machines, around chemicals and hydrocarbons under high pressure and heat, and in harsh weather conditions, Wear fire retardant clothing and personal protective equipment, Maintain face daily for proper respirator/face mask seal.

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 1 or more years of craftsman level, instrument, or analyzer experience in the Energy industry.
What Makes You Stand Out – Preferred
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent technical degree.
  • 7 or more years of craftsman level, instrument or analyzer experience in the Energy industry.
  • Working knowledge of Basic chromatography and physical property analyzers in petroleum refining streams, Various analyzer technologies and hardware and how they apply to refining, Codes and standards and how they apply to process analyzers in refining, Sample conditioning principles and hardware, CFR 40 Part 60 and Part 75 regulations and how they apply, Analyzer maintenance practices.
  • Experience with Smart Plant Instrumentation (SPI/INtools), Gas Chromatographs, NIR Analyzers, Flue Gas Analyzers, Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems and Data loggers, Tunable Diode Laser Analyzers.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to lead execution of work and resolve issues in a team environment.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks based on business need.
  • Ability to transfer analyzer knowledge in both, written and verbal forms.
  • Ability to demonstrate skills required to calibrate and maintain analyzer equipment through hands‑on instruction.
