Retail Associate/ Customer Service, Customer Service Rep

Primary Responsibilities- Greet, assist, and ring out all customers politely.
- Process customer purchases quickly and accurately using an electronic cash register, scanner, and scale.
- Clean the register area by sweeping floors, cleaning check lanes, registers, and scales.
- Prevent loss of money and merchandise by careful product handling, correct identification of produce, accurate counting of money, and properly accepting coupons, WIC, and other vouchers, checks, credit and debit cards.
- Ensure the safety of self, customers, and co‑workers by following store safety rules, and promptly reporting any potential hazard to a supervisor.
- Bag customer purchases quickly and correctly.
- Understand the operation, safety requirements, and restraints of the electronic cash register, scanner, scale, and intercom system.
- Perform miscellaneous tasks assigned by supervisors and managers, substitute for absent workers, and perform any additional tasks necessary to provide products and services to customers.
- Commitment to superior customer service.
- Basic mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in a related field or industry.
- Standing capability for a minimum of 4 hours.
- Move a maximum of 40 lbs. from 6 inches to 48 inches.
- Move a maximum of 40 lbs. up to 15 feet.
- Pick up items from floor, case, shelf, or cart.
- Retrieve merchandise from the top of grocery shelves (approximately 84 inches from the floor).
- Bend and twist at the waist while cleaning, moving/removing merchandise, and loading/unloading merchandise.
Inside the store with transitions of heat, cold, humidity, and dust from opening of store entrance/exit doors.
