Maintenance Technician – Niagara Bottling

Responsibilities
  • Ensure production equipment uptime through timely troubleshooting and repair.
  • Diagnose and repair injection molders, blow molders, fillers/cappers, labelers, case packers, conveyors, palletizers, stretch wrappers, and auxiliary equipment such as chillers, air compressors, reverse osmosis, water filtration systems.
  • Work with machine operators, supervisors, preventative maintenance mechanics, and senior technicians to resolve mechanical issues during shifts.
  • Propose solutions to complex and recurring problems to senior mechanics and management.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems using schematics, technical drawings, and testing equipment.
  • Repair equipment, fixtures, systems, conveyors, and other facility equipment.
  • Modify, lubricate, diagnose, and operate equipment according to company processes.
  • Maintain industrial control systems.
  • Complete repairs safely and timely, documenting work orders, parts, and materials.
  • Adhere to plant safety rules, safe lifting practices, and safe machine operation.
  • Maintain regular attendance to ensure equipment uptime.
Essential Functions
  • Work independently and collaboratively to complete repairs.
  • May fill in for production operator as needed.
  • Understand and follow plant safety rules under PPE usage where required.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • 4 years of experience in field or similar maintenance environment.
  • 4 years of experience in this position or comparable maintenance role.
  • 4 years of experience managing people and projects.
  • Demonstrated communication skills across departments.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.
  • Skilled with shop equipment: hydraulic and mechanical presses, bench grinder, drill press, mill, lathe, and assorted power tools.
  • Proficient with precision measuring equipment (calipers, dial indicators, bore gauges, depth gauges).
  • Own toolbox with basic tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6 years of experience in a manufacturing or field environment.
  • 6 years of experience in this position.
  • 6 years of experience managing people and projects.
  • Experience in high‑speed manufacturing, bottling, beverage, packaging, or plastics industries.
  • Experience with VFDs, servo drives/motors, rotary equipment, thermodynamics, heat transfer, plastics processing.
  • Knowledge of Krones, Sidel, Husky equipment, HVAC, chillers, and air compressors.
  • Proficiency in electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics for troubleshooting.
  • Fabrication skills: cutting and welding (MIG, TIG, stick).
  • Experience with electrical systems (480 VAC & 24 VDC) and communication systems (ASIBUS, CANBUS, PROFIBUS, Ethernet).
  • Experience repairing VFDs, servo motors, controllers, safety modules, PLC I/O cards.

Education
  • High School Diploma (required).
