Sawgrass Country Club is seeking a skilled, self-sufficient Maintenance Technician with experience in commercial facilities and commercial kitchen equipment
. This role supports daily operations, preventive maintenance, and emergency response across multiple buildings and food-service areas. This is not an entry-level role. Candidates must be comfortable troubleshooting and repairing systems independently in active operational environments.
This is a full-time, hands-on role with regular hours Monday through Friday, plus a shift every third Sunday.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on:
- Building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, doors, hardware)
- Commercial kitchen equipment
, including ovens, ranges, fryers, grills, steamers, dishwashers, ice machines, and walk-in coolers/freezers
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration issues.
- Respond to service calls and equipment failures promptly.
- Perform general facility repairs.
- Identify failing equipment and recommend repair vs. replacement.
- Document work orders and preventive maintenance using CMMS software.
- Follow all safety, health, and food-service compliance standards.
- 3+ years of facilities or maintenance experience.
- EPA 608 Certification (Type I or Universal).
- Proven experience working on commercial kitchen or food-service equipment
. - Working knowledge of HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, and basic electrical systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Valid driver's license.
- Trade certifications or formal technical training is preferred.
- Experience in hospitality, clubs, resorts, healthcare, or commercial facilities is preferred.
- CMMS experience is preferred.
- Able to lift up to 75lbs and work on ladders or in tight spaces
- Comfortable with physical labor and being on your feet throughout the day
- Able to work in hot kitchens, outdoor areas, and various weather conditions
