The Plantation at Ponte Vedra Beach is seeking an enthusiastic, high-energy Fitness Assistant Instructor & Trainer to join our team. This part-time role is ideal for someone passionate about helping members improve their health and wellness in a supportive, community-focused environment. You will assist with personal training sessions, lead small group exercise classes, and provide exceptional service to members of all ages and abilities—including a large older adult population.

Competitive hourly rate plus commissions.

• Lead and instruct small group fitness classes with clear, engaging, and safe guidance.
• Provide one-on-one personal training sessions tailored to member needs and goals.
• Support the Fitness Manager in maintaining a positive, motivating atmosphere within the facility.
• Offer knowledgeable instruction on proper equipment use, technique, and modifications.
• Build strong rapport with members, especially older clientele, ensuring comfort, safety, and encouragement.
• Assist with setting up/cleaning equipment and maintaining a clean, organized workout environment.
• Help support special programs, challenges, or events as needed.

• Current Personal Training certification from a nationally recognized organization (ACE, NASM, AFAA, ISSA, etc.).
• Previous experience leading small group exercise sessions preferred.
• High-energy, enthusiastic, and professional demeanor.
• Ability to connect with and coach older adults with patience and clear communication.
• CPR/AED certification.
• Availability for evening and weekend shifts is required.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to ten pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision.
