Hire Controller
Salary: £35,000

Hours:

Monday to Friday 8am to 5:30pm

We are looking for an experienced Hire Controller to join a busy and established team in Pontefract. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in the powered access or plant hire industry who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and delivering outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities
Coordinate engineer workloads, schedules, overtime and client communication.
Manage job reports, quotes, invoicing, stock levels and parts supply.
Support hire desk enquiries, contracts, logistics and telesales.
Maintain hire equipment compliance, including LOLER and PDI requirements.
Manage parts enquiries, supplier liaison and stock records, including van stock.
Oversee driver, vehicle and fleet compliance, tracking and audit records.
Manage visitors and contractors, including sign-in, documentation, safety and PPE.
Provide general administration, customer support and GDPR compliance while maintaining a high level of organisation and attention to detail.

Skills & Experience Required
Proven background in administration, coordination, or a similar support-focused role.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally both verbally and in writing.
Highly organised, with excellent time management and the ability to prioritise competing tasks effectively.
Confident using technology and a range of Microsoft Office applications.
Comfortable working independently, managing responsibilities with minimal supervision, and remaining effective in a fast-paced environment.
Thorough and detail-oriented, with a strong focus on accuracy and quality.
Familiarity with Xero would be an advantage, although full training will be provided.
Previous experience within the equipment hire industry or in an engineering support role would be beneficial.
