HGV Technician

Our client, a reputable franchise-approved commercial vehicle dealer group with multiple sites nationwide, is seeking a fully qualified HGV Technician for their busy Pontefract dealership. Duties of a HGV Technician:

Conduct major and minor repairs on heavy goods vehicles
Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance services
Maintain an organised inventory within the workshop
Ensure workshop cleanliness, including managing oil spills and dust
Assist in diagnosing vehicle issues alongside repair teams
Record repairs and maintenance using Keyloop/Kerridge systems
Complete all relevant documentation, warranties, and escalate claims as necessary
Carry out wheel alignments and tyre fitting
Provide accurate and timely customer documentation
Work efficiently within set time frames to maintain workshop productivity

Requirements of a HGV Technician:

Qualified to IMI/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
Ideally 1-2 years of practical experience post-qualification
Strong team player with a collaborative attitude
Able to produce high-quality work in a fast-paced environment
Motivated to meet and exceed targets
Valid HGV driving licence is highly desirable but not essential
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
