Upholsterer

We are working with a reputable client based in Pontefract who require a professional Upholsterer to join their team. The position is a permanent role paying up to £14.85 per hour (DOE).

Working Hours:

Monday - Thursday 7.00am - 4.30pm  Friday 7.00am - 11.00am Holidays - 23 Days  Bank Holidays (31 in total) Monthly Bonus Scheme - paid when meeting individual production targets Annual Discretionary Bonus - upto 10% of Annual Salary (twice per year)

Key Responsibilities:

Upholster a wide range of furniture, working from the initial frame through to the completed, finished product. Use a variety of upholstery and workshop equipment, including staple guns, drills and hand tools, to manufacture high-quality furniture. Accurately interpret and follow upholstery specifications, technical drawings and production instructions. Carry out repairs, alterations and re-upholstery work on existing furniture as required. Maintain consistently high standards of workmanship while working efficiently to meet agreed deadlines.

Work collaboratively with the wider production team to ensure production schedules and targets are achieved. Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment, following all company Health & Safety procedures and taking responsibility for your own safety and that of others.

Skills & Experience:

Previous experience in furniture upholstery, ideally with a minimum of 1 years relevant experience. Good knowledge of upholstery techniques, including cutting, sewing, padding, webbing, fitting and finishing. Confident and competent in the safe and correct use of upholstery tools, equipment and machinery. Strong attention to detail, with a focus on achieving high-quality finishes and consistently high standards of workmanship. Good problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively with complex, bespoke or challenging furniture pieces.
