Tynedale Hospice at Home is a forward‑thinking, inclusive registered charity providing high‑quality, compassionate palliative and end‑of‑life nursing care and support to patients in their own home.
We employ a range of qualified and unqualified staff across nursing and therapy groups, with all our services offered free of charge.
As we grow our services to meet the needs of the community we are looking to appoint suitably qualified and experienced Support Workers to join our Nursing Care Services Bank, predominantly to work night shift.
Main DutiesThe Hospice Support Worker (HSW) will be responsible for directly supporting the Tynedale Hospice at Home Care Service with a range of delegated duties, including the delivery of personal and delegated nursing care to individuals with life‑limiting illness and their families.
Duties will be carried out under the supervision and guidance of a registered nurse; however, the post holder will be expected to work alone, with access to professional advice and guidance when required.
Qualifications & ExperienceYou should possess excellent interpersonal skills and have experience working in a health or social care setting with NVQ Level 3 in health or social care setting, or equivalent experience.
There is an expectation that sessional Bank staff will offer a minimum of 20 hours clinical availability each month and attend a minimum of 50% Nursing Care team meetings.
You must be a car owner/driver with business insurance.
Successful applicants are required to provide an enhanced disclosure with a check of the adult barred list. Disclosure expense will be met by Tynedale Hospice posts are subject to a six‑month probationary period.
