Research And Development Engineer

This position supports a new fuel injector program within a team of five engineers, three of whom are focused on this development effort. The role involves issue resolution using 8D problem-solving methodology and hands-on work with components, including microscope imaging and precision measurement.

Key responsibilities include:

• Fuel injection equipment design, development, assembly, and test support
• Design support for components and assemblies using Creo (models and drawings)
• Component documentation including microscope imaging and part measurement
• Component assembly, function testing, and durability testing
• Collaboration with internal and external suppliers
• Interaction with engine-level teams and validation teams at Peoria Proving Grounds and Tech Center

• End-to-end vertical integration at the Pontiac facility, from raw material to finished engine assembly
• Exposure to full lifecycle and state-of-the-art technical challenges

Qualifications

• Ideally with engines, fuel systems, or related mechanical systems
• Engineering degree preferred;
  Associate’s degree with 10+ years of experience also considered
• Strong internship or co-op experience (e.g., Cummins) can offset work experience
• New grads will likely be capped at about 70k
