OverviewThe main function of a manufacturing engineer is to apply engineering theory and principles to problems of industrial layout or manufacturing production. A typical manufacturing engineer has the ability to make engineering drawings, and read and interpret blueprints.
Responsibilities- Study time, motion, methods, and speed involved in maintenance, production, and other operations to establish standard production rate and improve efficiency.
- Review worker logs, product processing sheets, and specification sheets, to verify that records adhere to quality assurance specifications.
- Review and approve work assignments in accordance with worker performance, machine capacity, production schedules, and anticipated delays.
- Review charts, graphs, and diagrams to illustrate workflow, routing, floor layouts, material handling, and machine utilization.
- Evaluate data and reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
- Recommend modifications to existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.
- Recommend revision to methods of operation, material handling, equipment layout, or other changes to increase production or improve standards.
- Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem solving ability.

- Displays attributes of a critical thinker and leverages innovative ideas.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback.
- Expert ability to make sketches, engineering drawings and common computations.
- Expert ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawing, schematics and computer-generated reports.
- Previous experience with computer applications and software related to engineering field, such as Computer Aided Design (CAD).
- Bachelor's degree in engineering required.

Why this Role?
- Exposure to complex processes to manufacture and assemble fuel injectors
- Development of both manufacturing processes and assembly processes and the interactions between one another
- This role is key to the development of work class process and risk mitigation for fuel systems for Client.
Typical task breakdown:
- Troubleshooting assembly equipment if needed
- Assisting in process improvements for current assembly process
- Understanding and walking back issues that occur due to first test pass failures
- Creating and updating all APQP elements
Interaction with team:
- Cross functional work with quality, manufacturing engineering, and operations
Team Structure
- Work with 13 other Manufacturing engineers and test engineers on the team reporting up through tech service manager
Work environment:
- Offices are located inside of factory work setting
