PositionSummary
The Occupational Health Nurse II (OHN II) is an advanced nurse generalist role responsible for administering daily clinic operations and delivering occupational nursing services within a busy manufacturing setting. This is a highly autonomous position that requires strong clinical judgment, the ability to manage on-site emergencies, and the skills to support both employees and leadership in fostering a safe and healthy workplace.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care for work-related illnesses and injuries.
- Respond independently to on-site medical emergencies.
- Conduct OSHA-mandated and other required surveillance exams.
- Perform DOT drug testing and fit-for-duty evaluations.
- Serve as the on-site liaison with facility management, Human Resources, EHS, and Corporate Medical leadership.
- Support disability case management, wellness education, and health promotion activities.
- Maintain clinic operations, documentation, and reporting requirements.
- Participate in Emergency Response Team (ERT) functions as needed.
Required:
- Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in Illinois.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in occupational health, acute care, or emergency/trauma care.
- Strong triage skills and confidence in emergency response.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
- Familiarity with OSHA, ADA, ergonomics, health promotion, and HR processes.
- Certifications in occupational health nursing or related specialties.
- PRN coverage (1st or 2nd shift, Monday–Friday, minimum 8 hours per week based on coverage needs).
- Compensation: $55/hour
- On-site role, no travel required.
