Description

Provide high-quality instruction to students and work collaboratively with the school leader, colleagues, students, parents, and the board to achieve or surpass the academy's educational goals. Work as a team to implement the curriculum and meet academic objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Create a conducive classroom environment; develop and enforce rules; collaborate on behavior management initiatives.

Plan lessons tailored to students' needs; align with curriculum standards; establish clear objectives.

Develop and review lesson plans; collaborate with instructional coaches; participate in curriculum alignment.

Collaborate with special education staff; implement accommodations; participate in IEPs and child study teams.

Work with staff on grant-funded programs to support diverse student needs and promote proficiency.

Maintain accurate records; ensure confidentiality; complete required documentation for compliance.

Communicate with parents; encourage participation; provide performance updates.

Maintain professional development; complete necessary coursework and certifications.

Identify instructional resources; participate in team activities; contribute to school improvement.

Participate in extracurricular activities as appropriate.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

State teacher licensure/certification with endorsements.
Bachelor’s degree in relevant subject area or equivalent experience; plan to attain 'highly qualified' status if non-certified.
Commitment to student success and achievement.
Proven teaching or tutoring experience; strong student and parent relations skills.
