Onsite – the successful candidate will report to Concord, NC on a full‑time basis and may be required to travel up to 25% of the time for live support at tests and races. Relocation benefits may be available.

Role Overview

GM Motorsports Performance Engineering is expanding its motorsports engineering capabilities and seeks a Motorsports Vehicle Testing and Instrumentation Engineer. You will collaborate with the GM Motorsports Testing & Instrumentation group to support NASCAR and Indy Car programs through advanced data acquisition, instrumentation, and vehicle testing throughout the entire vehicle lifecycle.

What You’ll Do
  • Acquire and instrument data for race and test vehicles.
  • Support vehicle testing at the track, in the lab, and on the race day platform.
  • Collaborate with racing programs throughout their lifecycle.
  • Analyze test data during and immediately after tests or races.
  • Provide live support as required during track tests, lab sessions, and select key races.
Required Qualifications
  • 2+ years of motorsports experience.
  • Professional racing data acquisition experience.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and act on test data.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced, performance‑driven environment.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for live support at tests and races.
  • Participation in racing, professional or amateur, highly desired.
  • Job may be eligible for relocation benefits.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
  • Experience with Cosworth Pi DAQ systems.
  • Experience with Motec i2 DAQ systems.
  • Wind tunnel experience.
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle dynamics and/or aerodynamics.
  • DFSS Black Belt certification.
