Role OverviewGM Motorsports Performance Engineering is expanding its motorsports engineering capabilities and seeks a Motorsports Vehicle Testing and Instrumentation Engineer. You will collaborate with the GM Motorsports Testing & Instrumentation group to support NASCAR and Indy Car programs through advanced data acquisition, instrumentation, and vehicle testing throughout the entire vehicle lifecycle.
What You’ll Do- Acquire and instrument data for race and test vehicles.
- Support vehicle testing at the track, in the lab, and on the race day platform.
- Collaborate with racing programs throughout their lifecycle.
- Analyze test data during and immediately after tests or races.
- Provide live support as required during track tests, lab sessions, and select key races.
- 2+ years of motorsports experience.
- Professional racing data acquisition experience.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and act on test data.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced, performance‑driven environment.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for live support at tests and races.
- Participation in racing, professional or amateur, highly desired.
- Job may be eligible for relocation benefits.
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
- Experience with Cosworth Pi DAQ systems.
- Experience with Motec i2 DAQ systems.
- Wind tunnel experience.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle dynamics and/or aerodynamics.
- DFSS Black Belt certification.
