Overview

United Wholesale Mortgage (UWM) is America’s #1 mortgage lender and is looking to fill an immediate need for underwriters. This role offers up to $20,000 in potential incentives in addition to starting salary.

Location:

Pontiac, MI. This is a full-time, on-site position with an 8-hour shift, Monday–Friday. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.

• Collect, review and examine an applicant’s financial history and records
• Perform risk assessment reports
• Analyze client’s financial statements and identify effective alternatives to the application
• Maintain knowledge of and adhere to investor guidelines, state and federal underwriting lending policies and required documentation
• Keep up with changes and adaptations as they occur
• Provide elite service to internal and external clients
• Communicate with clients via email and over the phone on loan status, including Mortgage Loan Officers and Broker Owners
• Manage multiple priorities while building rapport with clients

• Completed 2- or 4-year college degree
• Complex rationale and problem-solving skills
• Computer literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and other internet resources
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Willingness to learn and be coached
• Adaptable to a flexible, fast-changing industry
• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
• Ability to take accountability for actions
• Preferred experience in Finance and/or Accounting (financial analysis, accounts receivable and accounts payable)

• $45,000 starting salary
• $10,000 in forgivable loan incentives
