- Employment Type:
Part time - Shift: 12 Hour Night Shift
- Hours per week: 2–12 shifts, rotating between 5:00‑5:30 am and 6:00‑6:30 am. Holiday rotation included.
- Location:
West Bloomfield Township, MI
- Perform the Patient Access process, including accurate registration, pre‑registration, and insurance verification for eligibility.
- Schedule various department procedures/appointments and enter patient data into services for departments participating in PHS (Pathways Healthcare Scheduling).
- Coordinate multiple services in proper sequence, inform patients/doctor’s office of preparations and insurance requirements, and collaborate with multiple departments to best utilize equipment and facilities.
- Provide patient‑focused customer service, conduct outpatient and/or inpatient registration & insurance verification functions, collect patient financial liability payments, and ensure patients meet financial requirements including Medicare medical necessity, payer pre‑certifications & referrals.
- Provide general information to hospital users, patients, families & physician offices.
- Research, collect, and analyze information to identify opportunities and develop solutions; lead through resolution and collaborate on performance improvement activities.
- Utilize multiple system applications to perform analysis, create reports, and develop educational materials; demonstrate knowledge of departmental processes and procedures.
- Maintain a working knowledge of applicable federal, state & local laws, Trinity Health policies, the Integrity & Compliance Program, and the Code of Conduct.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- HFMA CRCR or NAHAM CHAA certifications required within one (1) year of hire.
- Medical terminology knowledge and diagnostic & procedural coding proficiency (preferred).
- Insurance verification experience with the ability to explain benefits and secure necessary authorizations (preferred).
