Paramedic & Clinical Care Specialist – Onsite Urgent Care About this position

About Kerix

Kerix is a healthcare organization focused exclusively on membership-based medicine. We believe healthcare should be personal, accessible, and proactive—and that stronger relationships between clinicians and patients lead to better care and better outcomes.

Kerix operates through two business units:

Kerix Health owns and operates Direct Primary Care clinics across the country, providing patients with more time with their care teams, convenient access, and a proactive approach to their health. Our organization includes Kerix Health and Advocate MD.

Special docs Consultants helps physicians transition from traditional fee-for-service medicine to concierge medicine, creating more sustainable and relationship-centered practices.

Across our organization, we are united by a shared mission: to restore healthcare by putting people back at the center of care. Our model emphasizes same- or next-day appointments, longer and more meaningful visits, direct access to care teams, preventive care, transparent pricing, and coordination throughout the healthcare journey.

Kerix is headquartered in Austin, Texas, with teams and practices located across the country. Learn more at .

Two Kinds of Care. One Rewarding Job.

Most paramedic jobs ask you to choose: the fast pace of emergency response, or the steady rhythm of clinical care. Here, you get both — in the same shift, on the same campus, with the same team.

As the Paramedic & Clinical Care Specialist with Kerix Health at our employer-sponsored onsite urgent care, you're a core member of the clinic team every single day — rooming patients, starting IVs, running point-of-care tests, and assisting providers with everything from wound care to walk-in visits. And when a call comes in from somewhere else on campus, you're the one who responds: assessing, stabilizing, and coordinating care until the situation is handled.

It's the full scope of your paramedic training, put to use every day — not held in reserve for the rare emergency.

What Your Day Looks Like:

  • In the clinic: triage patients, take vitals and histories, and prep exam rooms for physicians, nurse practitioners, and PAs.
  • Hands-on clinical support: place IVs, draw labs, run EKGs and CLIA-waived point-of-care tests (COVID, flu, strep, glucose, urinalysis, pregnancy, and more).
  • Assist with procedures: wound care, laceration repair, splinting, and incision & drainage.
  • Administer medications, injections, nebulizer treatments, and immunizations as ordered.
  • On campus: when dispatched, respond to medical incidents anywhere on the grounds — assess, treat, stabilize, and coordinate EMS as needed.
  • Document every encounter in the EHR, and help patients understand their diagnosis, treatment, and next steps.
  • Keep exam rooms, equipment, and supplies ready and compliant with OSHA, CLIA, and clinic standards.

Why Paramedics Like This Role:

  • Predictable hours: clinic runs 8 AM–8 PM, Monday–Friday — no overnight shifts, no weekends.
  • Variety that keeps you sharp: one hour you're rooming a patient, the next you could be first on scene for a campus emergency.
  • A true team-based setting: you'll work alongside physicians, NPs, and PAs, not in isolation.
  • Full use of your license and training — this role leans on the breadth of paramedic skills, not just the emergency slice.
  • A stable, single-site assignment on a well-resourced corporate campus.

What You Bring:

  • At least 1 year of paramedic experience preferred; backgrounds in urgent care, the ED, occupational health, or EMS are a strong fit.
  • Comfort moving between routine clinical work and fast-moving emergency response.
  • Strong clinical judgment, clear communication, and a genuinely helpful, patient-first…
