Registered Nurse​/Graduate Nurse - Acute Oncology Unit

Overview

Registered Nurse/Graduate Nurse - Acute Oncology Unit. Full-time, Night Shift (36 hours per week, 12-hour shifts) with a weekend rotation and holiday commitment. 5 South is a 36-bed unit caring for Oncology, Hospice, Anemia, Hematology, Comfort/Palliative Care, Radiation or Nuclear Treatment, Chemotherapy administration (AML, CML, leukemia) and sickle cell.

The Registered Nurse is accountable for the management of patient care during a designated timeframe. Responsibilities include coordination and evaluation of care, teaching and delegation of patient activities to other healthcare team members via the nursing process and the environment. Assumes a leadership role in providing professional nursing care within Trinity Oakland Hospital, including coordination, implementation and evaluation of the continuum of care in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team;

actively supports Shared Governance and promotes customer service.

• Education:
  
  Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing or equivalent.
• Licensure/Certification:
  Current licensure to practice nursing in the State of Michigan.
• Additional
  
  Certifications:
  
  ACLS (required for specified RN Care Managers), BCLS (required for in-patient bedside care including OR and Day Hospital), ENCP (ER), PALS (Ambulatory Surgery Center and PACU), Neonatal Resuscitation Certification (NRC) for NICU/Labor & Delivery as applicable.
• Experience:
  
  Minimum two years' work experience as an RN on a medical/surgical unit (for Med/Surg Pool) or in ICU/CCU (for Critical Care Pool).
